Cookies

This website, run by Dr Aron Mifsud Bonnici, keeps what it stores in your browser to a minimum. Nothing on it tracks you across other sites.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you agree to analytics cookies. Nothing that needs your agreement runs until you accept, and you can use the whole site whether you accept or not. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.

Strictly necessary

• Your choice. The site remembers your answer to the banner in your browser's local storage, under the name mb-consent, for 12 months. After that it asks again.
• Security. My website hosting provider may set a security cookie or use browser storage in some circumstances, to protect the site from automated abuse.
• Form security check. Where a page has the enquiry form, a security check from the same provider tells people from automated programs before an enquiry is sent. It may use browser storage for this and is not used to track you.

These are needed for the site to work and to keep it secure, so they do not need your consent.

Analytics cookies, only with your agreement

If you accept, the site uses an analytics service to understand how it is used: which pages are read, how visitors arrive (for example from a search engine or a link), roughly where they are, the type of device and browser, and whether they send an enquiry or click to email. It does this with first-party cookies that hold a random identifier, so that repeat visits can be told apart from new ones. They do not contain your name or email, and nothing you type into the enquiry form is sent to the analytics service.

• _ga: tells visitors apart. Kept for 13 months.
• _ga_ followed by a code: keeps track of the current visit. Kept for 13 months.

The analytics service is not used for advertising, is not linked to any advertising account and does not follow you to other sites. If you reject, or have not chosen, it does not load and sets nothing. If you withdraw your consent later, the site deletes these cookies. See the privacy notice.

Visit statistics, only with your agreement

If you accept, the site also counts visits with a statistics service provided by my website hosting provider: which pages are read, how quickly they load, and roughly where visitors come from. It does not set cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you to other sites. If you reject, or have not chosen, it does not run. See the privacy notice.

Fonts and files

Typefaces, images and the site's own scripts are served from this site itself, and no font or advertising service is contacted. The only scripts loaded from elsewhere are the form security check from the hosting provider, on pages with the enquiry form, and the analytics scripts once you accept them.

If the site ever uses other cookies or similar technologies that are not strictly necessary, this page will be updated and your consent asked for first.
