Contact
Tell me briefly where things stand and whether there is a deadline.
When people contact me
Executives and senior managers
- You have been handed a proposal or a draft agreement and asked to respond by a date.
- You have been told your role is "under review", your reporting line has changed, or your responsibilities have been moved elsewhere.
- Concerns about your conduct or performance have been raised for the first time, late in the relationship.
- Your bonus, deferred pay or share awards depend on whether you are treated as leaving on good terms.
- You are about to accept a senior role and want the contract read with the eventual exit in mind.
Employers
- A function, team or site is no longer needed, or the work can be done by fewer people.
- New systems, a merger or a change of management means roles will change.
- Part of the business is being sold, outsourced or brought back in-house.
- A restructuring decided by a parent company abroad has to be carried out in Malta.
- A senior person's departure needs to be agreed, inside a wider change or on its own.
You do not need to wait for a letter or a final decision. Many of the most useful decisions are made before the first formal meeting. How I work explains how the work is then scoped and charged.
